ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers can get up to $500 a month in free API credits

OpenAI says that starting now, for a limited time (it hasn't said when the offer ends), eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business subscriptions can link an API organization they own and get free API credits. Set it up once and the credits show up automatically each time your subscription renews, for as long as the offer runs. Pro gets $100, $200 or $500 a month, depending on your tier. Business gets $20 for each paid Standard seat and $100 for each paid Premium seat, pooled and capped at $500 a month per workspace. Business workspaces on annual billing get the whole year's credits up front (up to $6,000), and those expire at the end of the annual cycle. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and don't roll over, and your first grant is prorated. You don't need a payment method on the API account. Credits only cover API Platform usage in the linked organization, not Codex through API keys, and they don't raise your ChatGPT or Codex limits. Enterprise isn't eligible. How to claim: you need a paid Pro or Business subscription that's at least seven days old (trials and complimentary plans don't count). You must own both the subscription or workspace and the API organization getting the credits, and use the same email for ChatGPT and the API. On Pro, go to ChatGPT Settings → Billing; on Business, go to workspace billing or the Admin Console. Find the API credits offer and link it, or link your subscription from API Platform billing instead. Your credits then show up in API Platform billing settings, and you can create an API key with the OpenAI Developers plugin in ChatGPT or Codex.
How to claim
If you own the subscription, go to Settings → Billing in ChatGPT (Pro) or workspace billing / the Admin Console (Business), find the API credits offer and start your claim. You can also link the subscription from API Platform billing. You only activate once; after that, credits arrive with every renewal. Your paid subscription must be at least seven days old and use the same email as your API account. Once you've claimed, you can create an API key with the OpenAI Developers plugin in ChatGPT or Codex.
