Claude web, desktop and mobile apps will default to auto mode on Pro, Max and Team

Anthropic plans to make auto mode the default for Claude web, desktop and mobile sessions on Pro, Max and Team plans. Automated checks will screen for risky actions instead of asking users to approve each step. Users can switch back to manual mode at any time; those who prefer per-step approval should review their permission settings. Claude Code previously announced the same default for these plans. The app change is not yet in effect.
